My latest flash fiction piece, Safeguarding Quiz, is out in The Neglected Ratio this month. In my post on March 21, I mentioned that my fiction had taken a bit of a back seat lately because of my recent poetry publications. Time to take that back, methinks! This particular bit of work is a colourful sketch, or a tongue-in-cheek vignette (whichever way you want to look at it) that I’d written after a short break from my fiction. At 365 words or so, it’s a shorty. Short like a shot of vinegar? Good! Acidity kills germs 😉

About Leilanie Stewart
Leilanie Stewart is an author and poet from Belfast, Northern Ireland. She has written four novels, including award-winning ghost horror, The Blue Man, as well as three poetry collections. Her writing confronts the nature of self; her novels feature main characters on a dark psychological journey who have a crisis of identity and create a new sense of being. She began writing for publication while working as an English teacher in Japan, a career pathway that has influenced themes in her writing.
